A. Specialty has been in the temporary healthcare staffing business since 1993 but has over 100 years combined management experience.

Q. How much will I earn as a Specialty healthcare professional?
A. Specialty has always been among the highest paid agency out there. Most times, our RNs earn anywhere from $1-3 per hour higher than most other locally based healthcare staffing agencies. We suggest you ask your co-workers and fellow agency workers to find out for yourself. Q. How are my taxes handled?
A. When you work for Specialty, we will withhold all applicable federal, state and local taxes; you are not treated as an independent contractor. At the end of the year, you will receive a W-2 from Specialty in the mail.

Q. Why should I work with Specialty rather than a hospital as a staff nurse or hospital pool nurse?

Q. As an employee of your agency, how exactly am I paid?
A. Specialty offers two options: weekly pay to your bank of choice or "quick pay" for those who qualify and have an interest in this option. Direct Deposit is available to everyone with a bank account.

Q: If I have a clinical question, do you have a clinician whom I can speak with?
A. Yes. Our Chief Nurse Executive is available anytime to answer your questions or concerns.

Q. Will someone from Specialty always be available to talk to?
A. Absolutely!!! 24/7/365. Just call and someone from the office will be on call. We will always have a real "live" person to answer your calls.

Q. What types of positions are available through Specialty?
A. Many! We offer hundreds of different options for every nursing modality. We contract with clients throughout the United States.

Q. Do you only offer work in hospitals?
A. No! We staff various settings like long-term care facilities, rehabilitation centers, correctional centers, school settings and hospice cases.

Q. Can you guarantee me work?
A. Depending on the skill and specialty worked, yes. Many times, our medical facility clients request contract assignments which last anywhere from 4 weeks to 13 weeks, many of which extend to 26 weeks. Our nurses often times work as much or as little as he/she desires.

Q. Can I work for several agencies at once?
A. You sure can. We encourage our healthcare professionals to check out the competition and compare the service and benefits offered from other companies. We are confident we offer the best overall package and service in the industry.

Q. Can I work when I want without giving you a full-time fixed schedule?
A. Absolutely. At Specialty, we have something for everyone! We offer both per diem shifts as well as local contracts of varying lengths.

Q. How can I apply for a position with Specialty?
A. There are a few different options to make it convenient to your schedule and liking.
        

1) You can complete a full work history application HERE. You will create a user ID and pass-code which will allow you to go in whenever you can and complete this application. You can do this at the comfort of your own home.


2) Quick Apply for those who don't have much time. This will inform one             of our recruiters who will be reach out to you to go over what jobs we           have that might be a perfect fit for you

        

3) Come to one of our offices with all the pertinent paperwork to expedite           the on-boarding process. We always love placing a face with a name.

Q. What qualifications do I need to join Specialty?
A.
In order to be eligible to work for Specialty, all candidates must meet the following screening process that we've established for all new hires during their on-boarding process.

Q. Can I switch over to Specialty at a client that I work through another agency?
A. Yes. Call your coordinator and we will walk you through the steps. It’s easy and so many do it. Remember, it is your choice to pick which employer you want to work through. Specialty will never make anyone sign employment agreements blocking our healthcare staff from switching agencies (like many competitors do).

Q. Are orientation sessions required at the various hospitals?
A. Most medical facilities require orientations. Some medical facilities require more extensive orientations than others; however, most medical facilities require a policy and procedure manual that must be read prior to your first shift.

Q. Does Specialty offer benefits?
A. Yes!
